Konichiwa!!!

We have arrived!!! I am just now getting my internet set up. Stella and I had a very long trip to get here. We left Florida on Sunday morning, October 5 and arrived in Tokyo, Monday evening, October 6. Craziness, that international date line really confuses things. Stella did very well on the travel scene. We had tons of luggage and a long bus ride to the main base, and then a short car ride to our new house, apartment rather. This housing base is beautiful. There are tons of ammenities here. Lots of playgrounds for Stella, a child care facility, a mini commisary of sorts, an elementary school, even a train station just outside our front door. Amazing. Japan is absolutely beautiful. The people are gracious, and everything here is extremely clean. We done some exploring, however, we haven't done too much since we have had a lot of things to tie up on the base checking in our medical records and taking our required introductory classes. Hopefully after next week we can do some more sight-seeing. For now, Stella has a bad case of jet lag. She is sleeping by 6 pm and up by 5. Which is an improvement from 5pm and 4 am. Lucky me.
