Once a year, the sakura (cherry) trees bloom for about 1 week, then all the blossoms fall to the ground. For those of you not familiar with the Japanese cherry trees, they do not produce cherries. Around early to mid-march the bare trees begin to form buds. Instead of green leaves popping out, there are thousands upon thousands of flowers all over the branches. They are so incredible. We all decided to go out for the day and view the blossoms. Magnificent. Amazingly, these blooms only last about one week, then everything suddenly turns into boring green leaves again. :0) Enjoy.
